Enchantments are a new system in Slay the Spire 2 that lets you apply permanent upgrades directly to individual cards. Unlike the standard upgrade system, Enchantments add entirely new effects and last the entire run.
How It Works
Applying Enchantments
Enchantments are found at specific events, shops, and Act Boon rewards. When you apply an Enchantment, you choose a card in your deck to receive it. The effect is permanent for the run.
Types of Enchantments
Enchantments range from simple stat boosts (deal 3 more damage) to complex new effects (exhaust this card to gain 2 energy). Each Enchantment has a trade-off — powerful effects often add a cost or condition.
Stacking
A single card can receive multiple Enchantments, creating highly customized cards. A Strike with three Enchantments can become a core win condition.
Upgrade Interaction
Enchantments and standard upgrades are independent. You can both upgrade a card and enchant it, stacking both effects.
Tips
- ▸Enchant your most-played cards first — high-cycle cards benefit most from Enchantments.
- ▸Avoid enchanting cards you plan to remove from your deck.
- ▸Some Enchantments add Exhaust — great for Ironclad, risky for other classes.
- ▸In co-op, coordinate Enchantments with teammates to avoid redundant effects.

Enchantments that add Exhaust synergize with Ironclad's exhaust-triggered powers.
Enchanting Sly cards amplifies their free-play value significantly.
Regent can create new cards mid-combat and then enchant them for compounding effects.
