Co-op Mode

New in STS2

4-player online · All

Slay the Spire 2 introduces full online co-op for up to 4 players. Co-op isn't just multiplayer — it adds exclusive cards, shared mechanics, and team synergies that fundamentally change how you approach the Spire.

How It Works

Session Structure

Each player picks their own class and builds their own deck. Players share the same map and fight the same enemies together, but each player has their own hand and energy each turn.

Turn Order

Players take turns in sequence. During your turn, you can play cards that affect allies — transferring armor, doubling their next attack, or drawing cards for them.

Co-op Exclusive Cards

A pool of colorless co-op cards is available to all players. These cards are designed for team play: 'Transfer 10 Block to an ally', 'Trigger an ally's next attack twice', 'Give an ally 1 energy'.

Shared HP Pool (Optional)

Some co-op modes use a shared HP pool, making team survival a collective responsibility. Standard mode keeps HP separate.

Tips

  • Coordinate class picks — Ironclad tanking + Silent dealing damage is a strong combo.
  • Necrobinder's Doom stacks from all players, making it the strongest co-op class.
  • Prioritize co-op cards that give allies energy — energy is the most valuable resource.
  • Communicate before boss fights about who handles which mechanics.

Key Synergies

Doom (Necrobinder)

All players can stack Doom on the same enemy, enabling instant kills on bosses.

Ironclad Block transfer

Ironclad generating excess block and transferring it to squishy allies is a top co-op strategy.

Defect Orbs

Defect's passive orb effects benefit the whole team in co-op.
