The Regent Build Guide
Star Crafter & Blade Master
The Regent is a brand-new class — a cosmic ruler who manages Stars as a resource to upgrade the Sovereign Blade and craft powerful cards mid-combat. Unique in-combat card creation makes every run feel different and rewards planning ahead.
Key Mechanics
Stars
The Regent's primary resource. Spend Stars to upgrade the Sovereign Blade, trigger powerful effects, or craft new cards via the Forge. Start each combat with 3 Stars from Divine Right relic.
Sovereign Blade
A starter card that grows stronger as you invest Stars into it. Upgrading it multiple times per run creates a scaling win condition. Each upgrade increases damage and adds new effects.
Forge
The Regent's unique ability to craft specific cards mid-combat. Choose from a selection of powerful cards tailored to your current build. Costs Stars but provides exactly what you need.
Enchantments
Permanent buffs applied to cards in your deck. Many Regent cards grant Enchantments like Swift (reduce cost), Amplify (increase effect), or Instinct (draw when played).
Best Builds
Sovereign Blade Scaling
Invest heavily in upgrading the Sovereign Blade. Each upgrade multiplies its damage output. Pair with cards that generate Stars passively. By Act 3, your Sovereign Blade should be dealing 40+ damage per use.
Star Generation Engine
Maximize Star generation to fuel constant Forge activations. Craft the exact cards you need for each fight. Prioritize relics that grant bonus Stars or reduce Forge costs.
Forge Control
Use the Forge defensively — craft block and utility cards on demand to counter specific enemy patterns. Pairs well with relics that reduce Forge cost. Ideal for reactive playstyles.
Enchantment Spam
Stack Enchantments on your best cards to make them cost less and hit harder. Swift enchantments reduce costs to 0, enabling infinite combos. Focus on card draw to cycle through enchanted cards.
Hybrid Blade + Forge
Balance between upgrading Sovereign Blade and using Forge. Upgrade Blade early for consistent damage, then pivot to Forge in late game for flexibility. Best all-around build for beginners.
Pro Tips
- →The Regent rewards planning — know what you want to Forge before entering combat.
- →Sovereign Blade upgrades are permanent — prioritize them over single-use effects in Act 1.
- →Stars are a finite resource per combat — don't waste them on minor upgrades. Save for key moments.
- →The Regent struggles against fast enemies — prioritize early defense in Act 1 or upgrade Sovereign Blade for quick damage.
- →Divine Right (starter relic) gives you 3 Stars at combat start — this is your baseline economy.
- →Enchantments are permanent deck improvements — prioritize cards that grant Swift or Amplify.
- →Forge is most powerful when you have 10+ Stars — don't Forge too early unless desperate.
- →In co-op, Regent excels as a support — Forge utility cards to help teammates survive.
